The Rev. Richard Crocker

Interim Rector

Richard was raised in Birmingham, England. He received a Math/Physics degree at Nottingham University, but then sensed a call to the ministry and served as a Campus minister at Warwick University. Here he met Caroline, whom he married and together they moved to Oxford where Richard trained for the ministry. After his ordination in Birmingham, he served as Chaplain to a historic academic boys’ school (where JRR Tolkien studied). A visit to the USA brought a surprising call to a parish in Iowa, where Caroline and her family lived, and they moved in 1991 to Council Bluffs and served on the Diocesan Evangelism Committee and the Church Planting Committee and was a Deputy to the General Convention in 1997. Richard was then invited to apply for position of Assistant Rector at Truro church in Fairfax. After relocation to St. James Church in Newport Beach, California, Richard returned to the East Coast and attended Trinity Anglican Seminary to finish a doctorate in “Biblical literacy.” This was awarded in 2020, and he began teaching at Trinity Christian School in Fairfax, where he currently teaches Christian Studies.

Richard will serve as our Interim Rector as we search for a new Rector.
